Beauty Check – the 10 criteria
From the numerous different features of our faces, certain characteristics can be selected which each have a decisive significance for the pleasant appearance of a face. Each individual feature is compared with an ideal shape and evaluated. A scale of 0 to 10 is used, where 0 means repellent, 5 indifferent and 10 extremely attractive. Since 10 criteria are evaluated, a maximum of 100 points can be attained.
The criteria and their ideal expression
Skin|Free from impurities and lines and yellowy grey-blue discolouration, fine pores, hair-free, non-shiny.
Hair|Strong, full hair with rich gloss and elasticity to the tips.
Proportions|Golden Ratio subdivides the view of the face from the front and from the side.
Eyes |Large eyes. Conjunctiva are perfect white. Pupils completely fill space between lids. Marked crease in upper lid, arched eyebrows clearly above bony edge of eye socket, no lines under the eyes. Width of gap between lids is a quarter of width of face.
Nose|Straight back, seen from the front progressing to the tip without a bump. From the side the tip is slightly raised. The angle between the bridge and the top lip is 110 degree (in women). The nose is above all unremarkable.
Mouth|Full, uncreased lips. Well-formed Cupid´s bow and clear edges to lips. The mouth is twice as wide as the space between the eyelids. The teeth are perfect white, straight and with no gaps. When smiling, the upper teeth can be seen fully, as well as the gum papilla, which are a healthy pink.
Ears |Ears are above all unremarkable, no larger than a quarter of the height of the face, the external ears are evenly rounded and the earlobes are small and not grown-on.
Cheeks |The cheekbones mark the outer contour of the face. Their gentle rounding reflects the light, emphasizing the expression of the eyes. Under the cheekbones the cheeks are flat or slightly indented.
Neck |Is unremarkable, unwrinkled and slim. Clear delineation to edge of lower jaw, to the head-turning muscle and collarbone. Neither larynx nor salivary glands are visible. When looking downwards, the definition of the neck is retained. No sign of a double chin.
Expression|The face appears friendly, attentive and enthusiastic.
